Russian carrier Aurora has taken delivery of a Boeing 737-500 under an operating lease agreement with AviaAM Leasing.

The aircraft has been leased for a period of five years, confirms AviaAM Leasing.

The newly established airline was formed by parent Aeroflot and the Sakhalin region's government by combining Vladivostok Avia and SAT Airlines.

Its fleet consists of 11 aircraft, including two Airbus A319s, three Boeing 737s and six Bombardier Q200/300 turboprops, Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows.

Aurora plans to expand its fleet to 40 aircraft over the next five years.
