Aerolineas Argentinas and its regional subsidiary Austral have recovered from two independent surprise strikes last week, initiated by the AAA flight attendants union on 17 October and by the mechanics union APTA on 18 October.

According to Aerolineas Argentinas, both strikes ended officially at 09:00 on 18 October after the Ministry of Labour ordered a mandatory reconciliation process, although the consequences were still noticeable throughout the rest of the day.

The airline says that the AAA union had signed a general agreement, together with the other labour representatives in the company on 27 September, making their strike action "surprising and excessive".

AAA's Twitter account cites "lack of compliance of the central central points of the labour agreement with the flight attendants" as the reason for the walk-out, adding that "mandatory rest hours, vacations and staffing minimums" were not being respected.
