Aeromexico has added its first three Embraer 175s, as part of an ongoing fleet renewal at the SkyTeam carrier.

The carrier will operate the E-175s, configured with 86 seats in a single class, on domestic flights by Aeromexico Connect.

Two of the three aircraft will begin operations on 1 June and 20 June respectively, says Aeromexico. They will be operated on flights from Mexico City to Acapulco, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Guadalajara, Tampico, Zihuatanejo, Minatitlan, San Luis Potosi and Aguascalientes.

Aeromexico plans to replace the 50-seat Embraer 145s in its domestic fleet with larger Embraer jets from this year. The airline's chief executive Andreas Conesa has said all the ERJ-145s will likely be phased out in about four years.

The carrier will retire a total of nine ERJ-145s in 2013 to end the year with 29 of the type, Conesa said during Aeromexico's first quarter earnings call in April.
