Aeromexico plans to deploy its first Boeing 787 Dreamliners to London, Paris and New York John F. Kennedy.
The SkyTeam carrier has nine 787-8s and up to 10 787-9s on order, and expects to receive its first 787-8 in the third quarter of 2013.
Aeromexico's chief executive Andreas Conesa says today in an earnings call that the airline plans to operate its first 787-8 to London Heathrow, which Aeromexico will begin serving in December from Mexico City.
The airline will operate 767s on the route initially, but will switch over to 787s when the first aircraft arrives, says Conesa.
Aeromexico expects to receive three 787-8s in 2013, and the second aircraft will be operated on flights to Paris, he adds. The airline is contemplating deploying the third aircraft on at least a daily frequency to New York John F. Kennedy, says Conesa.
The carrier currently operates four times daily between Mexico City and New York, but plans to increase this to five flights daily, he adds.
