Aeromexico's third quarter operating profit fell 9.7% to Mexican pesos 834 million ($64.9 million).
Revenue declined slightly, by 0.5% to 10.5 billion pesos, while expenses roses 0.8% to 8.34 billion pesos. The airline grew its net profit 17.3% to 495 million pesos.
Traffic during the quarter rose 6.9% and capacity was up 2.7%. The passenger load factor grew 3.2 percentage points to 77.1%. Revenue per available seat kilometre (ASK) fell 2.2% to 1.25 peso.Cost per ASK excluding fuel fell 1% to 0.75 peso.
Aeromexico took delivery of five aircraft in the third quarter and retired one Boeing 767-200 on an operating lease, it says. The five new aircraft comprised one Boeing 787, two Boeing 737s, one Embraer 170 and one Embraer 175. It closed the quarter with 116 operating aircraft.
