Aeromexico has contracted SR Technics and its sister financing company Sanad Aero Solutions for a combined component maintenance and leasing deal for the carrier's future Boeing 787 fleet.
The 10-year agreement covers entry-into-service support, repair cycle management, engineering, and spare part pool access for "the full scope of rotable components from nose to tail", says the Zurich-based MRO provider.
SR Technics is a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Aerospace consortium.
The Latin American carrier will lease spare components from Mubadala's engine and component financing arm Sanad, and have access to the MRO group's equipment pools in Abu Dhabi, London and Zurich.
An additional equipment pool will be established in Miami.
The deal is the first 787 support agreement for both SR Technics and Sanad.
The maintenance provider has been contracted in the past by Aeromexico to service its Pratt & Whitney PW4000 engines. However, the two companies have not previously partnered for component support.
Aeromexico plans to take delivery of the first of 19 ordered 787s in August.
