Aeromexico will introduce the Boeing 787 on its Mexico City-London flights this month, upgauging from the Boeing 767 aircraft it operates on the route.
The SkyTeam carrier will maintain thrice weekly service between the two cities, but says that deploying the 787 will add an additional 70 seats on each flight.
Aeromexico's 787s are configured with 32 business class seats and 211 economy class seats.
The airline says it carried almost 40,000 passengers between the two cities in 2013, and expects to grow this number by 30% in 2014.
Aeromexico competes against British Airways on the route. British Airways operates Boeing 747 aircraft between the two cities fives times weekly, schedules in Innovata show.
