Aeromexico has agreed to lease two Boeing 787-8 aircraft from CIT Aerospace, to be delivered in 2015 and 2016.
The two aircraft will be powered by GEnx-1B70 engines. "Aeromexico is excited to add these 787-8 Dreamliners to our fleet and is pleased to be receiving them from CIT Aerospace with whom we have worked for many years," says Aeromexico's chief executive Andres Conesa.
Aeromexico had said in July it would lease another two 787-8s to take its planned 787-8 fleet to nine aircraft, but it did not identify the lessor then. The SkyTeam carrier had already announced plans to lease five 787-8s from International Lease Finance and purchase two 787-8s from Boeing directly.
On 25 July, the airline committed to order up to 100 new Boeing aircraft, including up to 10 787-9s. The deal will be worth $11 billion if it is finalised.
