Aeromexico will receive its first Boeing 787-8 on 15 August, says chief executive Andreas Conesa in an earnings call today.
The delivery date is in line with the SkyTeam's earlier expectations.
Aeromexico will deploy the aircraft first on domestic flights from Mexico City to Monterrey and Tijuana by end-September following a certification process in Mexico, says Conesa.
The carrier expects to receive two additional 787s in mid-September, says Conesa.
Aeromexico will operate the 787 on its new Mexico City-Tokyo Narita flights, which will launch on 14 October. The airline will also deploy the 787 on its daily flights to Paris and its daily flights to New York John F. Kennedy.
Aeromexico has orders for nine 787-8s and six 787-9s, as well as options for another four 787-9s.
