Afghan carrier Safi Airways is embarking on an expansion plan which will see it add New Delhi, Beijing and Moscow to its network.

Safi, which is based in Kabul and Dubai, plans to begin service to New Delhi and Beijing this summer, while flights to Moscow are scheduled to launch in 2011.

"Our expansion over the past 18 months has been very encouraging and we are aiming to almost double the number of destinations we serve over the next 12 months," says Safi chief commercial officer Claus Fischer.

Its network from Kabul currently includes Frankfurt, Dubai, Kuwait and Doha.
