Ghana's Africa World Airlines has launched a new domestic service from capital Accra to the northern city of Tamale.

The carrier is operating five-times-weekly flights on the route.

Innovata schedules show that Antrak Air and Starbow also serve Tamale from Accra.

Africa World Airlines - a joint venture between China's HNA Group, the China-Africa Development Fund, Ghana's Social Security and National Insurance Trust, and Strategic African Securities - has been operational since September 2012.
