French carrier Aigle Azur is poised to announce a codesharing agreement with Air Burkina.

From 12 January 2011, Aigle Azur will serve Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, twice-weekly from Paris Orly using an Airbus A321.

The two carriers are also in negotiations on an interline agreement which would allow Aigle Azur to market new routes from Paris via Ougadougou to destinations such as Dakar, Abidjan, Libreville, Douala, Niamey, Accra, Cotonou and other cities in West Africa.

Earlier this year, Aigle Azur signed a codesharing agreement with Air Mali.
