Sharjah-based budget carrier Air Arabia is to step up its efforts to penetrate the Saudi Arabian market with the start of services to Qassim Regional Airport.

The airline will start a four-times weekly service to the central Saudi airport, which serves the provincial capital of Buraydah, on 15 July, using Airbus A320s.

Qassim is the fifth destination in Saudi Arabia to be served by Air Arabia, after Dammam, Jeddah, Riyadh and Medina. The surrounding Qassim province is a major agricultural region.
