Air Arabia Group is replicating its joint venture business model with the launch of Air Arabia Jordan.
The UAE-based low-cost carrier signed a joint venture agreement with Amman-based Tantash Group, one of Jordan's leading investment companies, which is active in travel and tourism, real estate, financial services and industrial investment.
Air Arabia Group says Air Arabia Jordan is the first low-cost carrier based in the Hashemite Kingdom and will provide direct service to a range of destinations across the Europe, Middle East and North Africa region from Queen Alia International Airport.
"At a time when the global and regional economy continues to demonstrate strong signs of sustained recovery, we are confident of the long-term growth opportunities for the first low-cost carrier in the Kingdom, which will provide the high level of service, operational reliability and value-for-money fares that have become hallmarks of the Air Arabia brand," comments Air Arabia Group's CEO Adel Ali.
The announcement follows the launch of operations of Air Arabia Egypt, Air Arabia's third hub in Alexandria on 1 June 2010.
Air Arabia Jordan, like Air Arabia Morocco and Air Arabia Egypt will be managed by the Air Arabia Group.
