Air Astana has financed its first owned Embraer 190 aircraft under a debt facility agreement with Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES).

The E-190 is part of a facility that covers two aircraft, according to a source.

The Kazakh carrier already operates five E-190s under operating leases from Jetscape, Air Lease and BOC Aviation.

Next year, Air Astana will take a second aircraft from Embraer as well as another E-190 under an operating lease with BOC Aviation.

According to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database, Air Astana's fleet also includes one Airbus A319, five A320s, two A321s, five Boeing 757-200s, two 767-300ERs and two Fokker 50s.

The airline has 14 aircraft on order, of which four A320s, two A321s and four 767-300ERs are scheduled for delivery by December 2014.
