Air Astana takes delivery of first owned E-190

Almaty-based carrier Air Astana has taken delivery of its sixth Embraer 190, which it says is the first aircraft owned by the company.

The airline says that the aircraft will be employed on its network of services to neighbouring countries in central Asia, the Caucasus and southern Russia.

Air Astana is expecting the delivery of two more E-190s by the end of 2013, one of which will be owned by the company and the other to be leased.

According to Flightglobal's Ascend Online database, Air Astana operates a fleet of one Airbus A319, five A320s, two A321s, five Boeing 757-200s, two 767-300ERs, six E-190s and two Fokker 50 turboprops.
