Air Baltic will launch a new service from its Riga hub to the Czech capital Prague on 1 January 2013.
The Latvian flag carrier will deploy a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 on the thrice weekly service.
Chief executive Martin Gauss says the route launch fits Air Baltic's strategy of "concentrating on high-demand routes" while scaling back underperforming services.
In recent months, the airline has boosted frequencies on 12 destinations in Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). It also plans to open six new routes in summer 2013.
Innovata Schedules show that the carrier will compete with CSA Czech Airlines on the Riga-Prague route.
