Latvia's Air Baltic has firmed its tentative agreement for 10 Bombardier CS300s, which the carrier had unveiled earlier this year.

Air Baltic will receive its first aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2015. The order includes purchase rights on another 10 of the twinjets.

Based on the list price of the CS300, the firm part of the contract is worth some $764 million, says the airline.

"Following an in-depth analysis of existing and re-engined aircraft, as well as the new technologies offered by Bombardier's all-new CSeries aircraft, the results were clear and we selected the CSeries airliner," says Air Baltic chief Martin Gauss.

He says the CS300 and the Bombardier Q400 turboprop will form the basis of the fleet as the carrier restructures through its ReShape business plan. Bombardier has confirmed the CS300 order.
