Air Berlin has finalised a sale and lease-back agreement for two Airbus A320 aircraft with Irish lessor Avolon.
The two aircraft will continue to be operated by Swiss carrier Belair, a subsidiary of Air Berlin.
"Air Berlin requires flexible and creative partners who can work with us to support our fleet financing requirements. Avolon has demonstrated they have the capability and attitude to deliver both and we look forward to exploring the potential for further co-operation with them in the future," says Air Berlin's chief financial officer Ulf Huttmeyer.
The carrier has arranged similar sale and lease-back transactions with other lessors as part of a plan to restructure its fleet.
