Etihad Airways and Air Berlin have begun selling tickets for their new codeshare services, which were unveiled last month when the Middle Eastern carrier increased its stake in the German airline to 29%.
Etihad will place its code on 29 weekly flights to and through Abu Dhabi from Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich in Germany.
Additionally, Air Berlin-operated flights to Basel, Berlin, Catania, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Hannover, Helsinki, Milan, Rome, Stuttgart, Venice and Zurich will bear the Etihad Airways code.
In return, Air Berlin will place its code on Etihad-operated flights from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich to Abu Dhabi, and also on Etihad flights from Abu Dhabi to Bangkok, Malé and Singapore.
The partners said that additional codeshare destinations will be announced in the coming weeks, subject to government approvals.
Air Berlin will operate four weekly flights between Berlin and Abu Dhabi from 15 January, using an Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
