Air Berlin load factor on the rise in May

Air Berlin continued to improve its passenger load factor in May, as traffic measured in RPKs continued to rise despite capacity cuts.

The Oneworld carrier's passenger traffic rose 2.3% in May, compared with the same month in 2012. The airline cuts capacity, as measured in ASK, by 3.3%. Air Berlin was able to increase its load factor by 4.5 percentage points to 82.3%.

Passenger numbers fell 4.3% to 2.96 million for the month.
