British Airways (BA) and Air Berlin have entered into a codeshare agreement covering 40 flights across Europe, effective 5 July.

Under the agreement, BA's customers will have access to Air Berlin flights to the cities of Nuremburg, Munster and Paderborn through the German carrier's website.

In addition, the codeshare deal will allow BA's customers access to Air Berlin's European network, including connections from the main German gateways to destinations such as Palermo and Brindisi.

The codeshare deal precedes Air Berlin's entry into the Oneworld alliance in April 2012, which is being sponsored by British Airways.
