Air Burundi has taken delivery of its first Xian Aircraft MA60 turboprop aircraft.

Burundi's flag carrier inked a deal for two MA60s in 2011, says Xian Aircraft in a statement.

The state-owned carrier suspended operations in September 2009, and the Burundi government said in August 2011 that it plans to restructure the airline and privatise it.

Air Burundi plan to offer both domestic and regional services from the country's capital Bujumbura with its MA60s, says Xian Aircraft.
