Air Charter Service (ACS) is to market one of Estonian Air’s Embraer 170s on an exclusive contract, having identified a gap in the market as airlines continue to trim charter capacity.
ACS's commercial jets director Matt Purton says the 76-seat aircraft is versatile but will be “ideal” for sports teams, oil and gas clients, and the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) industry.
“There is a lack of this kind of capability, in the UK market especially, and, at the request of our client base, we have brought it in,” he says.
The 2005-vintage aircraft is one of the four E-170s leased by Estonian Air from Finnair in 2012, Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows.
The remarketing contract started earlier this month, and Purton expects the initial deal to be extended. “If the current market trends don’t change too much, I can only see us continuing this partnership on into 2015,” he says.
