Air China’s board elected Cai Jianjiang as its new chairman on 21 February, and also approved the appointment of John Slosar as a director.
Jianjiang was previously the carrier’s president, but resigned in January after being appointed as the general manager of Air China’s parent company, China National Aviation Holding Company. Following that resignation, he retained a position as an executive chairman on Air China’s board.
Air China has also approved the appointment of Cathay Pacific's chairman-designate John Slosar to its board. Slosar replaces Christopher Pratt as the chairman of Cathay and major shareholder John Swire & Sons from 1 March. Pratt will resign from Air China's board on 14 March.
Cathay holds a 20% share in Air China.
