Air China and China Eastern Airlines have filed applications with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to launch new services to Thailand.

China Eastern plans to launch a Hefei-Bangkok service from October, using Airbus A320 aircraft, while Air China intends to start Beijing-Chiang Mai service from November, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Both services will be operated thrice weekly, says the CAAC.

Innovata schedules show that Air China and China Eastern Airlines will be the only operators on the Beijing-Chiang Mai and Hefei-Bangkok routes respectively.
