Chinese flag carrier Air China's overall passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, rose by 12% in August.

The carrier's international passenger traffic increased by 17%, while its domestic passenger traffic went up by 9.7% and regional traffic rose by 12%

The airline carried 7.41 million passengers in August, up by 8.3% year on year. Passenger numbers rose by 8.1% to 6.25 million on domestic routes and by 7.8% to 796,000 on international routes. Passenger numbers increased 13% to 368,000 on regional routes.

Air China's overall passenger capacity, as measured in ASKs, grew by 10% for the month. Capacity grew by 7.4% on domestic routes, 16% on international routes and 10% on regional routes.

The overall passenger load factor increased 1.5 percentage points to 84.8% for the month.

Air China's revenue freight tonne kilometres decreased by 3.7%, while freight tonnage carried declined by 6%.

The airline's cargo capacity, as measured in available freight tonne kilometres, declined by 2.6%, while its cargo load factor fell by 0.7 percentage points to 59.6%.
