Chinese flag carrier Air China posted a 0.7% decrease in passenger traffic as measured in RPKs for October, compared with the same period last year.
The carrier's international passenger traffic fell by 6.6% and domestic passenger traffic rose by 3.4% for the month.
The airline carried 4.24 million passengers in October, an increase of 0.2% year on year. Its passenger numbers grew by 2.5% to 3.55 million on domestic routes and decreased by 12.9% year on year to 526,000 on international routes.
Air China's overall passenger capacity, as measured in ASKs, rose by 2.4%. The airline says capacity on its domestic routes grew by 7.9%, while capacity on the international routes fell by 5.1%.
The overall passenger load factor for the month declined by 2.5 percentage points to 79.8%.
The airline's cargo capacity, as measured in available freight tonne kilometres, climbed by 3.2% and its cargo load factor rose by 1.6 percentage points to 58.6%.
