Air China's overall passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, climbed by 9.6% in April.
The Chinese flag carrier's international passenger traffic rose by 4.1%, while its domestic passenger traffic went up by 12% and regional traffic increased by 4.3%.
The airline carried 6.32 million passengers in April, up by 8.2% year on year. Its passenger numbers rose by 10% to 5.38 million on domestic routes and decreased by 4.4% year on year to 606,000 on international routes. On regional routes, passenger numbers increased by 5.7% to 330,000.
Air China's overall passenger capacity, as measured in ASKs, rose by 11%. Capacity grew by 15% on domestic routes, by 3.1% on international routes and by 9.8% on regional routes.
The overall passenger load factor stood at 81%, a decrease of 1.1 percentage points.
The airline's cargo capacity, as measured in available freight tonne kilometres, grew by 8% while its cargo load factor declined by 1.1 percentage points to 58.4%.
Air China's revenue freight tonne kilometres and freight tonnage carried both rose by 6%.
