Air China passenger traffic up 4.1% in July

Chinese flag carrier Air China posted 4.1% growth in passenger traffic in July, as measured in RPKs, compared with the same month last year.

International and domestic passenger traffic increased by 7.3% and 2.8% respectively.

The airline carried 4.57 million passengers in July, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%. Its passenger numbers grew by 3.2% to 3.77 million on domestic routes and by 5.7% year on year to 634,000 on international routes.

Air China's overall passenger capacity, as measured in ASKs, rose by 6.8%. The airline says that its domestic and international capacity increased by 5.6% and 9.6% respectively.

The passenger load factor for the month fell by 2.1 percentage points to 84.4%.

Its revenue freight tonne kilometres (RFTK) increased by 9.8%, while freight tonnage carried grew by 9% to 99,300t.

The airline's cargo capacity, as measured in available freight tonne kilometres (AFTK), rose by 10.7%, and its cargo load factor fell by 0.5 percentage points to 59.9%.
