Air China will launch direct service from Beijing to Milan from 15 June.

The Star Alliance member says it will operate a thrice-weekly-service on the route, using Airbus A330 aircraft.

Air China is the only Chinese airline to fly direct routes to the city from Beijing, it adds.

Zhou Enyong, general manager of marketing department, Air China, says: "Since joining the Star Alliance in 2007, Air China's international network has been strengthened to cover 29 countries and regions."
