Air China has applied to start a service between Shanghai and Bangalore via Chengdu from February 2010.
It will be operated on an Airbus A319, says the Civil Aviation Administration of China, which has to approve the application.
If it receives the go-ahead, Air China will be the only carrier flying between Shanghai and Bangalore, according to Innovata.
