Air China's shares remain suspended on the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges because of a "significant event" at the company.

The suspension first came into effect on 9 October and was meant to end on 16 October, but China's flag carrier says this has been extended to 23 October.

The Star Alliance member did not give any details on what led to the suspension and officials from the airline declined to comment on the reasons.
