Air China has taken delivery of its first Boeing Next Generation 737-800 aircraft with the airframer's new Sky Interior.

Boeing says Air China is the first Chinese carrier to operate the 737-800NG aircraft with the new interior.

The new interior will offer an enhanced onboard experience to passengers with larger stowage bins and sculpted sidewalls, a LED lighting system with cove lighting, curved architecture and more intuitive passenger service units.

Boeing says the new interior is part of a package of improvements to the 737 family, which include a 2% fuel burn improvement which will make the aircraft 7% more efficient than the first 737NG delivered.
