Irish charter and leasing specialist Air Contractors has leased a Boeing 737-400SF aircraft after a 11-pallet configuration cargo conversion at Aeronautical Engineers (AEI).
The 1992-vintage aircraft (MSN 25261) is the first of three 737-400SF being converted for ASL Aviation Group.
ASL Aviation Group completed the purchase of three 737-400 passenger aircraft from the AIRPT 2001-1 ABS portfolio earlier this year and placed a firm conversion order with AEI.
The other two aircraft (MSNs 25181, 25184) were also built in 1992. All three aircraft are equipped with CFM International CFM56-3C1 engines.
The three 737-400s were initially leased in February 1992, March 1992 and October 1992 to Turkish Airlines, had lease expiring in 2008. In September 2007, Turkish Airlines signed five-year lease extension agreements through 2013.
Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database shows Air Contractors has three 737-400SF aircraft in service along with five ATR 42Fs, 11 ATR 72Fs and two Hercules L-100-30s. It retired its Airbus A300B4-200F fleet from service in July.
