SkyTeam carrier Air France is to begin operating daily Airbus A380 services from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Los Angeles from 28 May.
It will reduce frequencies on the route to 14 per week, from 15 at present, and will operate services using an A380 and a Boeing 777.
The route is part of the transatlantic joint venture operated by Air France-KLM, Alitalia and Delta Airlines. Air France says use of the A380 will grow seat capacity on the route by 4% compared with summer 2011.
In its summer schedule for 2012, Air France will operate eight Airbus A380 aircraft from Charles de Gaulle airport, serving Los Angeles, New York-JFK, Singapore, Johannesburg, Tokyo, Montreal and Washington.
