Air France-KLM has completed its acquisition of a 25% shareholding in Alitalia, following the Italian flag-carrier's restructuring.

The completion has been achieved through subscription to a reserved capital increase amounting to about €323 million ($435 million).

Air France-KLM says the agreement for the minority share provides a "strenghtened partnership" and gives the company "greater access to the Italian market", a position reinforced by Alitalia's combination with Italian carrier Air One.
