Air France-KLM traffic flat in December despite capacity cuts

Air France-KLM's passenger traffic remained flat in December against a year-on-year capacity decline of 0.4%.

Load factor inched up 0.3 percentage points to 81.8%, with the group carrying 5.99 million passengers during the month - a reduction of 2%.

On the European network, capacity fell by 1% while traffic slumped 2%. This resulted in a fall in load factor of 0.8 percentage points to 70.2%.

Passenger traffic in the Americas declined 0.1%, while capacity declined by 0.9% and load factor increased by 0.7 percentage points to 87.4%.

The Asia-Pacific network recorded traffic growth of 5% alongside capacity growth of 3.7%. Load factor increased 1 percentage points to 84.1%.

Across Africa and the Middle East, traffic and capacity increased 0.5% and 0.1% respectively, resulting in load factor growth of 0.3 percentage points to 82.4%.

Caribbean and Indian Ocean routes witnessed a capacity reduction of 6.1% and a 6.3% fall in traffic. The load factor fell by 0.2 percentage points to 83.1%.

Air France-KLM's cargo traffic declined by 5.7% on capacity cuts of 4% in December, leading to a 1.2 percentage point fall in load factor to 66.9%.
