Air India calls tender for APU leases

Air India has issued a tender seeking to lease three auxiliary power units for Boeing 737-800s operated by subsidiary Air India Express.

The airline is seeking to lease three Honeywell 131-9B APUs for a period of between one and three months, with the complete units to be made available within seven days' notice, according to the tender documents.

The APUs would be required to be delivered to Air India Express's maintenance facility in Mumbai, and would also be redelivered to the same site at the end of the lease.

Responses to the tender are due by 11:00 local time on 1 August at Air India's office in Mumbai.

Flightglobal's Ascend Online database shows that Air India Express operates 21 737-800s.
