New lessor Air Lease, headed by Steven Udvar Hazy, and Boeing have firm up an order for 54 Boeing 737-800s announced at the Farnborough Air Show in July.

The finalised agreement includes the firm orders and "six additional airplanes to be reconfirmed", says Boeing.

Deliveries of the aircraft are scheduled to begin in 2011 and continue through 2017.

Air Lease during the show also ordered 51 Airbus A320s, 10 ATR-72-600 turboprops and signed a memorandum of understanding for 10 Embraer E-190s.
