Air Lease inks 12-year lease deal for Aerolineas' six 737-800s

Operating lessor Air Lease (AL) announced an agreement with Aerolíneas Argentinas for six new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The aircraft, which will be on 12-year leases, are scheduled for delivery between November 2014 and February 2016.

Separately, Aerolineas Argentinas and domestic subsidiary Austral are in the market to sell their Boeing MD-80 fleets powered by JT8D-219 engines.

The carriers are conducting an open bidding process to sell a total of seven MD-80s, which are currently parked at different airports in Argentina.
