Air Malta is preparing to restart services to Libya and plans to increase its services to the North African nation.

While the political situation in Libya remains uncertain, the Maltese carrier said it planned to commence services as soon as possible.

As well as restarting its daily flight to the capital, Tripoli, it has now obtained traffic rights for a twice-weekly service to Benghazi. It cautioned, however, that the issue of visas from Libya's second city would be essential if the new route was to be viable.
