Air Namibia names new COO

Air Namibia has hired former IATA consultant Rene Gsponer as its new chief operating officer.

Gsponer, who takes over on 4 November, will have responsibility for flight operations, maintenance and engineering, says the airline.

Swiss-born Gsponer has since 2006 served as a senior IATA consultant specialised in operations plus fuel and environment management. Prior to this he worked for travel company Thomas Cook, aircraft manufacturer Fairchild Dornier, and Gulf Air.
