Bids for Air New Zealand's A320 request for proposal are due on 15 November, according to a banking source.
The carrier approached banks and financial institutions in the summer with a funding request for three Airbus A320s from its orderbook.
According to the banking source, Air New Zealand is looking for export credit agency-guaranteed proposals as well as Japanese operating lease with call options.
The three A320s are due for delivery in June, July and November 2013.
Air New Zealand operates seven A320s in its fleet. It took delivery of two aircraft of the type from Air Lease and another two from BOC Aviation in 2011 under operating lease agreements.
The group has a contractual commitment to acquire 10 A320s for delivery through September 2016, as well as 11 purchase rights for the type. Air New Zealand also has a firm order for 10 Boeing 787-9s plus eight options. Deliveries are expected to run between the second quarter of 2014 and October 2017.
