Air New Zealand has announced that Cam Wallace will take over the role of chief sales and commercial officer from 1 January 2014.
Wallace, who is presently the airline’s group general manager New Zealand and Pacific islands, will replace Norm Thompson, who is retiring at the end of the year.
Air New Zealand says that Wallace was chosen after it undertook an international search for a successor to Thompson.
“Mr Wallace is a world class sales leader and I am delighted that an Air New Zealander was able to beat strong global competition for this position on my executive management team,” says chief executive Christopher Luxon. “This is another excellent endorsement of the airline’s senior leadership development programme succeeding.”
