Air New Zealand passenger traffic up 2.2% in October

Air New Zealand (ANZ) has posted a 2.2% year-on-year increase in overall passenger traffic, as measured in RPKs, for October.

The airline carried 1.05 million passengers in October, an increase of 2.2% from the same period last year.

The airline's short-haul RPKs increased by 3%, while its long-haul RPKs grew by 1.5%, compared with the corresponding month last year.

The carrier's short-haul passenger numbers increased by 2.6% in October, while its long-haul passenger numbers decreased by 1%.

Total capacity, as measured by ASKs, increased by 2.9% year on year, with a rise of 4.1% in short-haul capacity and increase of 1.9% in long-haul capacity.

The carrier's overall passenger load factor decreased by 0.6 percentage points to 81.7%.

ANZ's short-haul and long-haul passenger load factor declined by 0.8 percentage points to 82.9% and 0.3 percentage points to 80.7% respectively.
