Air New Zealand passenger traffic up 8.2% in September

Air New Zealand (ANZ) has posted an 8.2% year-on-year increase in overall passenger traffic, as measured in RPKS, for September.

The airline carried 1.29 million passengers in September, an increase of 6.3% from the same period last year.

The airline's short-haul RPKs increased by 9%, while long-haul RPKs grew by 6.8%, compared with the corresponding month last year.

The carrier's short-haul passenger numbers increased by 6.6% in September, while long-haul passenger numbers increased by 4%.

Total capacity, as measured by ASKs, increased by 3.3% year on year, with a rise of 1.2% in both short-haul capacity and long-haul capacity.

The carrier's overall passenger load factor increased by 3.9 percentage points to 84.7%.

ANZ's short-haul passenger load factor increased by 5.8 percentage points, while the carrier's long-haul passenger load factor increased by 4.5 percentage points to 86.3%.
