Air New Zealand is due to come to market in the coming weeks with a request for proposals for financing covering its Airbus A320 deliveries, say market sources.

According to Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database, the carrier has eight A320s on order with one unit due this year, followed by four in 2014 and three in 2015.

Air New Zealand's profit for the year ending 30 June 2013 increased to New Zealand dollars (NZ$) 182 million ($143 million), more than double the same figure for the previous year, due to increased demand for its long-haul operations.

Operating revenue for the Star Alliance carrier grew by 3% to NZ$4.6 billion for the year, largely due to a 2.2% increase in the number of passengers carried, while yield improved by 0.9% to NZ$0.13 per RPK.
