Air New Zealand has re-signed an agreement with the Cook Islands government to operate flights to Los Angeles and Sydney up to 2018.

The airline has operated a weekly service from Rarotonga to Los Angeles since 2007 and in 2010 added a weekly service to Sydney, under previous contracts with the government.

Air New Zealand was named the preferred bidder for the tender to provide the two services in November following a review of the contracts.

Innovata schedules show that Air New Zealand is the sole carrier on both routes, and the flights are operated by a Boeing 767-300.
