Air New Zealand (ANZ) will commence direct flights between Nelson and Palmerston North, starting 12 July.
The airline's Eagle Airways and Air Nelson subsidiaries will operate twice daily flights on weekdays using Beech 1900D aircraft, and a single flight on Sundays using Bombardier Q300 aircraft.
As a result, the last weekday Palmerston North-Wellington service will be retimed to operate later, says the carrier.
According to Innovata schedules, Air New Zealand will be the sole operator on the Nelson-Palmerston North route.
ANZ has teamed up with Palmerston North airport to re-introduce this service, which was last operated in 2008.
